Linda,

Thanks for the reply. I am using a 486 Clone. I started out way back when with an Apple II+, but was forced to the PC by my office for compatibility reasons. I have been waiting forever for a decent Mac with both Wintel and Mac capabilities. I thought that Copland would be the answer, and now I hope that it is Rhapsody.

The Y2K problems are looming for me, and I will have to upgrade in the next 12 months or so. I may go the Pentium II route, but I would prefer a G3 or G4, IF I can have the various color boxes with it.

At present, I feel that I must have Win 95 to get the stock data that I would like. I agree that the MAC market is probably affected to some extent by the lack of good stock software. That seems strange to me given the power of the MAC, so maybe some innovative company will get the message. Here's hoping.

Thanks for the clarification on the release time.

Sam

<<That news item came out during trading hours I think it helped the
stock pull back up. Quote.com sent it to me at 5.58PM but they're
in CA, so I guess it was out by 3PM EST. >>

Actually, that would be 9 pm, so it wasn't released until several hours after the market close, unless lInda was being silly and mixed up her numbers.

I was in the UCLA Bookstore today and looked at the new computer display area. They still have a display for the Newton Message Pad, though no price was listed so I am not sure if it is out of stock. My guess is that they might still have a few, but I am not sure.

The most prominent Mac display promotes the spring break special, which is either a 32 MB chip, 2 extra years on the warranty, or Virtual PC 2.0 + Windows 95.
