EB, interesting times indeed. I agree with you about bonds, deflation, etc. Your note about farm land was interesting too as I was just (half) joking the other day about a real estate crash caused by all the mortgage companies promoting 125% equity loans to "jump on a hot stock" (the nineties version of the low margin requirements of the twenties?). When the market finally does turn and all the margin accounts funded with equity loans get wiped out, Ditech Funding and all the others will be trying to dump collateral at the same time that the rest of the economy is heading into recession. Deflation seems too mild a term.
