Hi Doug,

I am not a CPA, so I can't provide you with all the details. What I mentioned previously is purely my impression. Financial statement audits do not seem to go through the same kind of rigor like that of the U.S practices. It is partly attributable to the fact that there is never any class action law suit against management for misrepresenting financial information. All I am trying to say is that the risk of investing in Hong Kong, either red chip, second tier or H shares is quite high if you purely rely on financial statement analysis.
