DataCard Corporation to Resell Nexar Technologies' XPA PC For Photo ID Product Line

Nexar's XPA(tm) Design Provides Upgradability for Customized Photo ID Systems; Strategic Private Label Agreement Expands Nexar's OEM Channel

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1998-- Nexar Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq:NEXR - news) a manufacturer of customizable and upgradable PCs, today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with DataCard Corporation, a leading provider of systems and solutions for financial and identification applications. Under the agreement, DataCard will resell Nexar's XPA(tm) (Cross Processor Architecture) PC as part of its photo ID system.

Bundling its QuikWorks(tm) identification software with the XPA PC workstation, DataCard will market and distribute the robust, plug-and-play compatible photo ID systems directly to its customers in the corporate, government, education and other markets.

The highly flexible and scalable XPA technology enables DataCard to provide its customers with customized systems that are easily upgraded as new technologies emerge or as their computing needs increase.
