john.

is the fab you're refering to different than the fort worth delay (fab 16)? if i read the fort worth release right, intel delayed construction to convert it to a 300-mm fab (for 0.13-micron mpu's) scheduled to be operational in 2002. originally, it was scheduled to open in 1999 as a 200-mm. while it does indicate an obvious slow-down, wouldn't this qualify as 'good news' for the 300-mm wafer market?

anyone more knowledgeable on this, please please feel free to clarify or correct me.

thanks,
-chris.
