A couple of plays to consider for your gold stocks shopping list.

1. BGR precious metals fund BGR.A-TSE a closed end gold fund made up of secondary and tertiary juniors. As you are probably aware the juniors rise faster and fall quicker than do the seniors when prices rally or fall. Also at last check BGR was trading at a discount (33%) to NAV and to book.

2. Central Fund CEF-TSE Another closed end fund. This puppy is made up gold bullion, silver, platinum, etc. It does not own mining stock per se. Last check showed it trading at a 5% discount to NAV. This allows you to get around holding gold coin within a tax shelter structure. One caveat I am led to believe that a purchase of CEF is best made when the discount is in excess of 30%. Caveat emptor.

Happy hunting.

51--Ist, you need a spell check. 2nd, select miners. There is no best one, must buy several. Small, mid, and large cap.

Less-than-a-full-deck?

When the gold market is rolling, I have achieved notable success with US Funds' World Gold Fund, a no-load US mutual fund symbol UNWPX,
Royal Oak RYO, Bema Gold BGO, Golden Star GSR. If you can trade in Canada look at Franco Nevada for safety. Many gold mining companies have been under an unusually dark cloud because they are on the ragged edge of profitability with gold trading under $300 US. But if the XAU holds above 80 and rallies upward there will be excitement in one of my current dogs Campbell Resources CCH as it reexperiences profitability. Speculative money is just waiting to get back into gold and this 80 level may be the signal at least for at least a few weeks ride. For silver you can look at Apex SIL and Pan American PAASF. For platinum group metals Stillwater Mining SWC.
And there is always Crystallex KRY which is an exciting gamble at this time. If you are Canadian you have about a half a million to choose from.
