How was the SOT meeting in Seattle? I didn't go this year. Do ISIP tox people regularly attend?

The two techniques are similar...and very promising.

A delivery vehicle is not necessary...via direct injection, but there is a low efficiency of gene transfer and a low level of stable integration. Thus in proliferating cells repeated injections may be required. In tissue that does not regularly proliferate, the injected DNA may be expressed for months. If one uses an integrative vector (eg.retroviral) then long-term production of anti-sense RNA may be obtained.

I hope this helps.

Best of Luck,
