Gregor, Mr. Strong never wrote a sentence of comment. There is not one paragraph in Strongs written as commentary of any kind by Mr. Strong. It begins with "A", and lists every single word in the entire Bible alphebetically, and where it found along with a sentence clue. Anywhere that word was EVER mentioned ONCE, he wrote it down with basic content sentence. THEN he went to the Hebrew/Chaldea of the time and gave the exact meaning. In the N.T., he referred to the precise exact meaning of THAT word in Greek. Since the Greek is much more like the Hebrew, and not being Germanic, like English, we have unfortunatly lost a lot in translation. If you ever care to know I will show you proof of English ediom that has caused error for centuries, not error in the Bible, but error in the human mind as to what the Bible actually meant by that. The Bible is infallible. It is perfect. But the use of English to reduce the Greek and/or Latin back in 1500 whatever is interesting. That's why I go to STrongs. He puts me back 2000 years to the exact verbal meaning. To do this took more hours and brain work than I can imagine. Mr. Strong went totally blind and his daughter had to finish the work. Mr. Strong did not even write a preface, signed Mr. Strong. It is pure Bible, and Hebrew and Chaldea and Greek, which can be found in no other concordance. I hear there is a better one, but I don't know and don't need it. In Arizona I was pretty much away from the Lord, but felt it was really time to get back before I drifted further into an area where I felt I could happily live without. There is always some temptation somewhere for every person. But that temptation will be found along life's path. I saw a Strongs in a Christian bookstore on sale for $15.95--a STEAL. I was thinking it over because I didn't know if I needed it and I believe that the Lord clearly said to my heart, "This will be the best $15.95 you ever spend." I know that statement about Strong's was leveled at me. But please don't attack Mr. Strong. He never wrote a word of commentary. Nor have I used commentary in my posts referring to STrongs, except to point out that the exact words do not reflect the popular l990 interpretation of the end time church in several matters. Also, Greystoke has dictated that you will all not fellowship with me, and I alway think it is good we do devil's bidding, of course. It makes us all look so "Christian". I hope this post will not tarnish the thread further. :) However, to prove what I say, there is something where David says, "The Lord said to my Lord..." That always struck me as bizarre, until I looked up the two Lords. Then I saw that in every sense the first "Lord" always referred to the One on the Throne, The Heavenly Father of JEsus Christ. The second "Lord" is the very first direct reference to the Annointed One to come. All through the Bible God clearly separated Himself and His Son. Up to the last words of Revelation. It was only King James Court who saw fit to merge them into one word with one meaning, and I believe cause more trouble thereby than they ever dreamed possible in the spirit realm, by way of halting the perfect work of the Holy Spirit, which goes between Father and Son in perfect order. I think I'll stick with God's original, and continue to use the original meanings of the much more varied Hebrew and Greek.
