Jenna,
thx for the clarification. Seems to be an intersting kind of synergy. On the one hand You are looking into value plays, otoh You are into short term trading. I used to think that normally value benefits the investor in the long run only - unless You accompany Your strategy with a market-timining indicator set. One probable approach could be group analysis, another could be any indicator sensitive to any momentum parameter.

Earnings plays make sense IMHO, because if a stock is NOT dumped when it misses big-time (re: COMS) this means that if a company exceeds earnings it could pop big-time also.

I'm not into options right now because this demands too much attention and intervention by me. However that might change in the future, once I mastered a semi-automatic trading approach (OMGA got some nice products in this field) that does paging alerts for me.. There's a challenge for every time it seems..

In the future - when my comp. system is back up - I might forward some Tom de Mark sequential model analysis on picks circling around here - provided I have time..

regards
CROSSY

Jenna, I have been following your thread for about a month. I appreciate all the valuable information that you share with everybody. I have used earnings plays in the past . I usually buy the stock a week prior to earnings so as to get in before the stock trends upward. The stock must have previous earning surprises and rated at least a buy by brokers. This way if it does not move it usually stays in a tight trading range. ANEN reports the week of the 4/6. The short position on this stock is 47,000 shares. They have beat estimates the previous two quarters. I would appreciate your thoughts.

THANKS
