If you think Netscape timing out routinely when viewing SI posts with a 28.8 modem is normal, I don't know what to say, except that if it's AOL that's the reason. My overall response was more than cut in half using the same laptop and modem when I switched to Earthlink. I repeat. This should not be happening - or at least it need not happen. He should check his settings, try changing the connection number or switch his service to one with bigger pipes and fewer users per modem. BTW, apology accepted.
