Thanks for that excellent post. Did you know that last Sept. another company quietly signed a manufacturing deal with IBM? Could it be our very own QED? Well shucks, guess so:

Looks like IBM's making the GIC part.

Lets see... If IBM were to buy IDT not only would they be getting THE premium non-Intel x86 part available today they'd be getting a 40% stake in the non-public QED. Probably the ONLY way they could get it. Not only would IBM be able to "control their own destiny", as the article suggests, but they would be in the driver seat in all the growth markets for logic chips. Just a thought. Probably nothing though. Hope this post is at least worth a few grains of pepper.
