Judy, I flew out of Alaska on a vacation late Thursday night. For hours I had a great view of the northern lights, undulating up, up, up into the firmament. Hopefully this is an omen for the chart of WIND! (I loaded up in the mid-thirties.)

I read about the LSI chip but I can't remember the details -- I'll get back to you after my vacation. Right now my internet access is very limited. I'm currently logged on from a public library in the Phoenix area.

Note that RSYS seems to be having somewhat of a breakdown.

I'll be in touch in about 10 days. For now, check out: dac3.pfrr.alaska.edu

Judy, it was so nice in the Southwest that I extended my stay for a week among the quail, doves and jack-rabbits. I've been out of touch, and I regret to see that WIND traded off again in my absence.

Maybe we'll get some more positive support out of the H&Q conference being held April 27-30. (Briefing.com's "Stock Brief" page is taking votes today on which sessions they should attend, so I recommended WIND.)

>>Do you see synergies between LSI's new system-on-a-chip and WIND?<<

Some time ago on the other WIND thread I mentioned LSI's system-on-a-chip for digital cameras. The chip was available with either VxWorks or pSOS, with a third RTOS to be announced. LSI has other system-on-a-chip solutions for DVD players and both GSM and CDMA wireless handsets.

Some recent press releases:

LSI Logic Defines the Future of System-on-a-Chip (3/23/98)
biz.yahoo.com

CASIO Selects LSI Logic's System-on-a-Chip Solution for New High
Resolution Digital Still Camera (4/6/98)
biz.yahoo.com

I have no direct knowledge of which RTOS is most popular with LSI's chips. Presumably WIND is getting its fair share or better. A while back I browsed through the Yahoo! classifieds and saw a lot more demand for VxWorks experience than pSOS experience.

>>Anchorage must be beautiful this time of year.<<

Nope! March thru early May is the season of slush, mud, and dust. (But it is beautiful here in February, June, and July.)

>>have you taken a permanent leave of absence from your job yet?<<

I'll probably go back to work this fall. Hope your trading goes well!
