CDC Highlights ! They might be interesting but the US FDA will make the final call on any proposals set forth by USPHS or CDC. It now appears that the folks from Atlanta ,( CDC ) Dr. Branson will invite more and more HIV rapid screen tests to the party. Getting the US FDA to change their stance on the two week waiting period on HIV screening tests is the immediate goal and it remains to be seen how the FDA will accept these recommendations and allow providers at Clinics to disclose provisional results of HIV tests, instead of making patients wait two weeks. We shall see ! At this juncture, we must stay focused on the " BIG PICTURE " and in our exhaustive discussion on HIV testing, we presuppose that Trinity is geared only to that field. The Uni-gold technology platform has multiple applications, and the fact is that HIV will probably be minor when compared to the potential returns from others. I feel most of the applications in the United States will be out of the FDA long before HIV, and some of these markets ( e.g., Strep A, Chlamydia, Prostate Specific Antigen and H. Pylori are enormous. Dr. Alan Pronovost is working with the Irish Scientists in Dublin , getting these rapid POCTests through the US FDA in an expeditious manner. We all enjoy discussing " HIV " because that seems to be the HOT ( and occasionally cold ) topic of the day ! Trinity is NOT ." an AIDS company " ~~~ it is, rather, one in rapid, on- site diagnostics. Malaysia and Africa ? Have not heard a follow-up on those fronts nor anything that Bayer is doing with the Uni-gold ? I'm sure I will have plenty to report on all those questions after my trip to Dublin and my visit to the new facility in Bray. Seven rolls of film should be adequate heh ? Dr. Burger seems to be pushing all the right buttons. Avi Biopharma and ITG merger is in Phase II with the vaccine treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer and appears to be going along very nicely. &&& Cheers
