Yes, X, you are correct. Everyone here has stopped growing upwards. So Costco stuff ends up being either too much, too perishable, or too yummy!! I threw away so many half bags of rotten organic baby greens that I finally calculated it would be cheaper to buy what I really need at the supermarket. We could never eat that many oranges or apples, even though we eat a LOT of fruit, and then there is the category of things that are just too delicious to buy. I used to get the barrels of chocolate dipped biscotti, but I don't think it is really good to eat one several times a day, and that is what my family did. The Costco pies are so big and juicy that they look like they were made specially for Papa Bear. An excellent bargain, but irresistible. Have you ever had the cinnamon rolls, X? I think they are absolutely the best I have ever tasted. Legendary, in fact.

Now that Safeway and Lucky have membership cards, with real bargains attached, some of their prices are much better than Costco, if you shop regularly and stock up. However, that takes time, and for a very busy young mother like you, I can certainly see how Costco wins out.

I wish I had bought the stock at eighteen, when I was considering it!
