Correction ****** It is GALTF not GAEO More than one GALILEO. Corrected list shown below. THANKS! --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Humble One has a plan for "removing" the short sellers of Intel from our thread by showing them "greener pastures". Greener pastures I said, so listen up. I have worked hard for this complete very useful short sellers report! This Gentile has just returned from a repeat pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and I may have come up with a method of picking companies in which short selling will return huge amounts of money. As for me and my house we do not sell short. For those of you out there that do not have those scruples to contend with, I may just happen to offer the magic key to great riches. From JERUSALEM POST comes an amazingly long list of Israeli companies shares traded abroad. Except for 6 companies traded on the London exchange, the remaining 110 are traded on the US stock exchanges: AMEX, NASDAQ and NYSE. My list comes from the Sunday March 15, 1998 issue of the paper. For your convenience I have transferred the list to the respective stock symbols. In a few cases no symbol was found, so I show the line as printed in the paper. My list is otherwise identical to that published, with no stocks removed or added. ***** AMEX ***** AIP Ampal American Israel 4.875 EIL dropped from 3 7/8 to 5/8 in 13 months ETZ ETZ A (Etz Lavud Ltd Cl A) double space in symbol ITH dropped from 3 3/16 to 1 in 7 months KML Statistics: 7 stocks; 6 trades between 0-10, 1 between 30-40 ***** NASDEQ ***** ACSEF ACNTF dropped from 33 to 2 in 12 months!!! $$money, money, but victims .. Multimedia Selector ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SOURCE:S&P COMSTOCK These are the cold facts. I did not see reference to Centennial Technologies CENL, which for several years was touted as performing better than any other stock. It rose from 1.62 March 1995 to reach 57 on Dec 30, 1996. It then crashed and burned, and is currently selling at 2+. Strangely enough it must have been excommunicated from the Jerusalem Post. What observations can be made? ***** When you look at these stocks as a group, are the number of failures normal? ***** There seem to be a very huge number of low priced stocks (penny stocks) in this group. ********************************* Acknowlegement for a willing helper goes to Michael W.
