Glen Mayne, chairman of the state's Year 2000 Task Force, said the immunity offered to state and local governments would be justified because the state has worked since 1990 and spent about $55 million so far to fix the problem.

Seems to me if they spent $55 million and haven't fixed the problem, that GLEN MAYNE doesn't know what she is doing. Where did all that money go? SALARY?????? They should have contacted TAVA .

Dear Starfish: OFF TOPIC: YOUR POST OF the bill afoot in FLORIDA, my state also, really ticked me off this morning. Governments are almost ALWAYS the most ineffecient, backwards, stupid, lazy and almost any other demeaning term I can think of entity. Now they want PROTECTION FROM SUIT against their LOUSY performance. SHAME SHAME SHAME. JDN
