Ramsey,

<<If you don't like it, you/your company can always open a factory in New York city, where trash is always picked up on time, where union
officials are always fair and abide by the law and cops response in real time to your every needs. Or you can open a factory in east L.A. where you will find thousands of hard workers who will show up to work on time, where you feel comfortable taking your family for a stroll in the neighborhood every day after work, where your car will always be where you parked it in the morning.

I had hoped we could discuss this without sarcasm. Maybe you are too angry for this one? In any case, just to correct an impression you may have, I am not here as an ex-pat employee. I have my own business. I do get involved with many ex-pat companys here including the DD industry. I do not however, live in an expat high rise ghetto :). I live in a community that is largely Malay and Chinese. I seldom see another westerner unless I travel or go to the central business district. Honestly, the main reason I am here is because I met, fell in love with, and married a Chinese Malaysian and it is more convenient to be here because of her business and family situation. It has been an eye opener for me and I am still learning.

Best,
Stitch

Gee, where have I been. I've only read a few posts, but as you know, that wouldn't stop me from jumping in. I can hardly believe what I'm reading you say Ramsey - a fully-fledged political raving racist madman...that's the story. Maybe I should just pop my post from Globalstar in here and call it a day. Then go read some more and see what's up. This is a guide to NZ Values [= Asian values]. I'll have to read your rants Ramsey and see if I can find something to disagree with. They look pretty good to me.

Dougjn, Web access is US$25 per month unlimited [though evenings are busy and
multiple tries to connect are necessary]. I've signed up for satellite access at 500,000
baud access download, with upload via phone lines at slow speed. That will cost
US$45 per month for unlimited access.

Because of the state control system we run here, Telecom has to provide residential
local calling free. So that is my total internet cost. Most services are about US$1.50 per
hour with a small monthly charge. These are more robust services, with easier access
and fewer connection problems. But they end up very expensive.

We have apartheid, state control, with advocates of communism apparently gaining
ground again after 15 years of reduction in state control of the economy. The major gain
they are making now is in the social welfare area. The state now employs about 25% of
the population as beneficiaries. Half of those as dole bludgers, sickness beneficiaries
[who are active enough to rob banks, assault various people and generally go skiing]
some in the low-quality state-sponsored breeding programs, which are also providing
employment in the department of corrections where many of the breeding graduates live.
Then there are the mentally ill, so drunk and drugged that they suffer severe mental
debilitation, which also produces a lot of employment in medical facilities where the
crazy and their victims are treated. There are student scum who protest nowadays about
not enough in the way of state handouts, loans, allowances and free tuition.

This all takes a lot of taxes, so there are increasing numbers of jobs in the tax collection
area. We need lots of laws to tell people how to run their lives, with police to enforce
those. So there are many politicians and their advisers, hangers on and general factota
[factotums USA speling]. And on and on it goes. Of course politicians need lots of
overseas trips to investigate "best practice".

Once we have the collectivist electricity supply operating again we can get back to
developing apartheid more fully. We've imported many white South Africans who will
presumably be able to assist in measuring noses, skin colour [color], DNA screening to
ensure only approved races receive tax payments, special fishing privileges, education
advantages, job advantages etc. This is a very challenging task and although the USA
and South Africa failed and Rwanda made a real mess of it, we are determined to
succeed.

We'll have to institute breeding control because too many people are reproducing
across racial divides and identifying who is who, who is entitled to the perks and iwi
membership is going to be a problem. Without that, given a hundred years or
two, everyone will be descended from everyone, so we will all have the privileges.
Which simply isn't good enough when we are trying to get a class structure, slavery and
hereditary state-funded privilege established.

We are proud of our modern slavery system. We use natural needs like hunger, social
acceptance, clothing, shelter, care and protection of one's children to drive people into
employment where we take just enough tax to avoid them giving up, revolting, voting for
another party or otherwise getting bolshy.

The latest attempt is to cancel democracy. You see, the collectivist Auckland Regional
Services Trust, owned by, well, nobody really, "The People" being the nearest
approximation, is rich. Everyone wants to get their hands on it. There is great concern at
the suggestion that Auckland voters have a referendum on what to do with it. The
concern is because the voters might vote to give it to themselves. Which simply wouldn't
do would it? So the local politicians are all striving mightily to get their hands on it.
Because THEY know how to spend our money for us much better than WE do.

So you see, internet access is relatively economical here.

Happy now SurferM?

Mqurice

PS: Nobody owns the electricity supply company either. Funny that it conked out. They
reckon they've got power back on with an emergency bunch of wires strung across the
city which should last until the belated tunnel to carry a permanent supply is complete.

Psst: Don't mention this to anyone or they'll be really annoyed with me and might not
believe me when I tell them Mum told me that a Maori guy was actually my father when
Dad was away on a business trip. In fact, it was a Maori chief, so I guess that makes
me King Kong!
Please send Koha [= offerings, preferably in cash] to:

Eketahuna
Waikikamukau [Whykickamoocow = USA speling]
Aotearoa [New Zealand = USA speling]

Oh,and by the way, yes, Globalstar handsets will be at least dual mode.
