>>"The third reason is the vindictiveness of Gods who dominate most religions."<<

Without vindictiveness there can be NO CONTROL of the masses.

Hi X,
You said:>
"Man can only see things as he is, and not as they are. <

"If this is true, Emile, then we can never know the truth. And even the Bible is not as
it is, but only as we see it. And the word of God, would not be the word of God,
but only what man thought he was hearing as the word of God. And this is exactly
what I believe. That nothing is really knowable, in the eternal irrefutable sense, and
so it is just as well to sit on the fence with reverence and wonder and ponder the
limitless mysteries of the universe"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the state of man without the Holy Spirit of God and the Word of God as eternal measuring sticks of truth and righteousness.
Within fallen man, all cultural values are relative. The rise of mythical religions in Greeece, Egypt and the North lands are evil fruits of these imperfect relativistic perceptions. Consequently, Cultures war against cultures and societies against societies, all trying to establish their own unique perception of relative reality.
Without the help of the Word and the Holy Spirit man cannot find reality. This is why Jesus came to restore man by recreating his spirit and filling Him with the divine Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus.
The Jewish Christian Apostles and disciples went into the world with light and reality of th Gospel and not with the sword or armies. Almost all of these early Jewish disciples were martyred by our pagan European ancestors. But they spread the light of the Gospel with their martyred blood until all of Europe was lit with their flame.
The world believes in its false relativism and will continue to hate the light of Jesus Christ that lights every man that comes to it with reality and truth and salvation and forgiveness of sins.
Jesus is the end of man's relativism and search for reality.

Gods' Words are not realtivistic utterings by an imperfect being, but they are Words
of eternal truth, and they are Words that give Eternal Life--the restoration of the
image and likeness of God in man.
No philosopies, no political systems and no false religions can ever restore man's Godly
humanity. God has determined in His eternal wisdom and love that Jesus would be the
only cure for man's fallen and sinsful nature.

'If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and you believe in your heart that
God the Father has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.'

In conclusion, Jesus has removed the relativism of man's fallen nature. Because of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, Christians can see with the eyes of God. Sadly, true Christians are always a small minority in a society or government. Even countries and societies who have called themselves Christian have only a small minority of true believers. The great light in America during her youthful years was the light of a large Christian minority within her.
The light of the European nationa (the so called Christian nations of the middle ages) was the light of their Christian minorities within their shores. It is a light that sees reality and not the myths of realativism.

<< The gods of whom I have read are for the most part cruel and vindictive. They are much too human for me to belive them anything more than human conceptualizations ....But though man attributed the aforementioned perfections to his Gods, he also gave them his anger, his jealousy, his vindictiveness and prejudices; most imperfect emotions. >>

I agree. God was created in man's image, not the other way around.
