Ramsey, "...the biggest predator in the world today (some nerd in a Northwestern state who has a monolopy on an over-priced inferior product that crashes all the time). All I am trying to point out is the arrogant attitude that is completely counter productive. There has to be a more pragmatic approach. Unfortunately, Bush was not re-elected, otherwise, we would all be living in a kinder and gentler nation by now." Being a recipient of the arrogant USA "We will tell you how to run your country" values, values which incidentally included a 30 year anniversary of murder of children and others in My Lai, I can agree with you that there is an arrogant attitude from the USA. Lt Calley got confinement to barracks for a year or something. Did any others get punished at all? Eichmann got the noose. The USA has a civilian body count due to USA wild west shoot em up values which leaves more business for undertakers than the USA casualties during their assault on civilians in Vietnam, which many would call genocide, war crimes etc. Now including 11 year old children shooting each other up. Should we adopt American values? The French terrorist state of Mitterand, with complicity of the USA and Britain, contrived to bomb a Greenpeace boat in my harbour, killing a guy who had a wife and child, he being no threat to anyone. Guilty of no crime. Hardly supporting family values to kill him. Being Asian, I can tell you that Ramsey is right. But being Asian, I can also say that every individual has their own cultural values which vary from day to day. There is no such thing as Asian Values. There are generally true stereotypes. That's all. It is not racist to call Americans arrogant, Japanese [of the older generation] hard workers, and New Zealanders admirable. To call my idol BillG the biggest predator is odd. He has a bit of money available. No army, no power to speak of. He has only some customers who might or might not continue to send him money. And do you really think that George Bush as President would see us living in a kindler gentler world? People are going on about Japan in China and compensation. How about USA in Vietnam? Has there been much compensation? When will the war crimes trials be conducted? Court is sitting over some cruelty in Bosnia etc. Maybe efficiency would see some Americans being tried simultaneously. By the way, I wish to inspect the USA nuclear, biological and other weapons of mass destruction to ensure they have all been destroyed. It is taking such a long time for Iraq to be declared okay to sell oil again. 8 years now. Wow, you'd think the USA oil industry didn't want the oil on the market. Imagine what all the north slope and other oil assets would be worth if it was open slather on Iraq's oil again. Now, this is a little off topic, but this is a reflection of what people on the receiving end of American lecturing think. In a hurry, but there you are. Warts and all. Have a nice day! Maurice [Oh, and some of my best friends are Americans]
