Paul, The article you posted states that gold stocks are not for the meek and mild. I guess what the author is saying is that I should be investing in the Dow or S&P 500 companies along with the other sheep. Funny how he neglected to recommend selling into strength the large caps.

The article did mention Italy's suggestion of carrying 30% gold reserves in the EMU. The next 2-3 months before official word on EMU gold reserve asset allocation should be a classic buy the rumor sell the fact opportunity.

George Cole and others have an intermediate goal of 350 on the price of gold. This would be a 50% retracement of POG from 1996 high 420 and 1998 low of 278. I plan to reevaluate my gold asset allocation at that level. I have added new money to my gold position (South African marginal gold mining) since the Italy announcement.
