You obviously know more about the details than I do. Here's some more thoughts and reflections.
As of #3, long-term survival with carcinomatous meningitis has been published. Survival may depend on tumor histology, stage, etc. Are you sure that long-term Depocyt survivors had matching tumor types in the control group?
As of #4, the same is true for methotrexate.
As of #5, no doc can't tell the side effect of an experimental treatment that he/she does not know (hence experimental). To be fair to the Depocyt investigators, they could not have told something to their patients they did not know.
By the way, this disease is notorious of causing headaches, vomiting, back and neck pain, confusion, etc.. Actually, this is why patients with neoplastic meningitis go to the doc for treatment. These symptoms during treatment do not suggest to me that the treatment caused them. I wonder why it did to DepoTech, or the FDA, for that matter.
As of #7, the dr. you talk about IS the company's current Medical Director (see press release). He has been the only dr on the Board of Directors since 1989. He must have approved every company action with medical relevance, including their ODAC presentation. At present, he still is the only medical authority they had/have. Erickson was a technical manager, and should not be made responsible for medical incompetence. DepoTech has a medical problem. Although some non-empowered managers are gone, I don't see the change you talk about.
