i picked it up at some newsstand while i was on a teen tour (summer of '70). it was eerie, but i read it straight through, and eventually everyone else did. the funny thing: fred mustard stewart had relatively modest success to that point & the movie came out winter '71, making him all the rage. alan alda, and barbara parkins ( peyton place) and curt jurgens...
