I've been reading a number of posts on the "misc.invest.stocks" newsgroup over the past few days stating that silver is in fact the key element in the new fuel cell technology, expected out in about a year's time. That is possibly the methanol fuel cell featured in the article I posted here last Sunday, i.e. the one that will replace the batteries in notebooks, cell phones. We can hope that this in fact coming. I'm not sure how this would impact on Barrick's plans. My suspicion is, as someone else posted, that Barrick may be making plans for a silver mine if the price of silver should start to rise soon.
