The Promise of ADSL Modern telecom applications have outpaced the bandwidth capabilities of the local loop--and the strain will only get worse. Although many solutions have been proposed, ADSL may be the most logical answer... ...ADSL has now been tested by most providers, and many are planning service rollouts. All of the Bell regional holding companies have tested DSL technologies, and will have ADSL commercially available on a large scale by mid-1998.
