Sorry I have been absent Mohan but I've been working. I continue to read your posts when I can and have bookmarked your "profile". My stand out favorite period on the soutern coast is the era between 1625-1725 with the Zamorin of Calicut and the Grand Sidi fighting the Maharattas, the Portuguesse, the English, the Dutch, the French, andthe Arab pirates. Lots of technicolor action! An unknown period to most everyone. It has always been my dream to go up and down the west coast of India visiting the old forts from this period. Someday. Hopefully.
