To expound upon this post..

I don't think that the Titan/PT Multi Media Asia Indonesia/Pasifik Satelit Nusantara/Indosat thing would be that much competition - since it will probably provide more expensive telephony etc. (sounds like cellular)
IP is much more cost effective..

FYI - just a thought -- ya just call with your cellular to the DGIV VoIP gateway :-)
El cheapo long distance calling from your cell phone.

The Indonesian state-owned telecommunication company PT Indosat is to raise its stake in the Personal Communication Network (PCM) project to over Rp100 billion (S33.34 million), following an approval by the extraordinary general shareholders' meeting Thursday.

The meeting agreed to raise Indosat's investment value in the PCM project by up to 30 per cent above the amount agreed at the annual general shareholders meeting of 1997.

PT Indosat, together with two other domestic telecom companies Telkom and Inti, had obtained the basic permit from the Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications to set up a joint venture
company to offer PCN cellular telecom services based on Digital Communication System-1800 (DCS-1800) (company press release)
Indosat controls a major stake in the joint venture.
