Well, my romantic notions of Europe are crushed. Certainly, though, when women are working they need to budget their time very carefully. I have just started shopping on a daily basis, trying to acclimatize to a lifestyle that obviously no longer exists in anticipation of moving to Ireland (as usual, I am clueless), and find it is really nice because then I cook dinner based on what I am in the mood to eat, and everything is extremely fresh.

One trend in America is towards produce markets. They are growing rapidly in popularity because of the demand for organic produce, and because it feels good to support small, local farms. Supermarket produce here tends to be more expensive, less fresh and tasty, and not available in the myriad varieties found at the produce markets.

And it is so nice to have a personal relationship with my egg man, and the cucumber guy!!
