Haim: one of Dr Yardeni's charts shows that corporate pension plans are radically overfunded (tho this may change if the market deflates). I wonder how much 401K overinvestment we have, too. We're a nation conditioned to expect 5% inflation. I know people who despise their jobs, have huge amounts in their 401K, refuse to retire five years early and spend some of the money because they have to pay a 10% penalty tax. People do really strange things to avoid taxes.
