For centuries, the Incas washed water down the hillsides to free up the loose earth. Then their women and children swept along the river bank and picked up the newly freed gold to trade with the Spaniards.

Thanks to the intellectual fashions of the twentieth century, the Inca's descendents were too backward to use the valley properly. They chose to sit in abject poverty on their mountain valley full of gold rather than allow some evil Norte Americanos share in the benefits.

Bankrupt intellectual fashion erodes away like the loose dirt on those hillsides and it's time once again to gather the gold. This time with the help of the Norte Americanos' marvelous scientific techniques. Now we will find out how deep the abundant gift of gold runs in the valley.

I invest in stories, folks, and as a result, am skeptical of them all at first. This story deserves some of my money, no matter how long it takes them to complete their little report. There will be more reports, and more delays. But there will be the gold. Always the gold. Because this gold isn't just in the ground. It's also in the people of 2 nations, seeing the sunlight together after a long, long night. And finding real gold in each other in an obscure little valley in the middle of nowhere.
