Those are good points. Yeah, I'm concerned about AOL thing, but more concerned about all the shortcomings of iPhone.

I think Cidco cut too many corners trying to get iPhone to market first. The biggest problem is that keyboard. Alcatel's is a few inches wider, and Cidco easily could have done the same. It's as if Cidco wanted the keyboard to stay in alignment with the screen, which makes no sense.

I'm sending my iPhone back, now that I've tried it for free for a few weeks. $500 is just too much money for this early, crude version. The keyboard works well, but my hands get very tired typing on it, and there are just too many improvements that need to be made before I'll spend that kind of money. (I have to admit, after I saw that Alcatel ad today in the SF Chronicle, my feelings toward iPhone changed a lot.)
