i don't know this, who does ?
I think the real question is rather who is
the driving force in the PC industry and the answer is clearly
not the segment zero. Who is there ? AMD that cannot deliver ?
CYRIX that stuff the channel today with the latest and greatest
only to watch them dying tomorrow as Intel cuts prices ?
Will the 4M x86 that IBM makes for CYRIX rescue them ? or the
3M K6 ? Unless you are "sandered" the answer is no. INTEL
has the megafabs that nobody else can even dream about; you may
say that Celeron is a glitch and MERCED will run NT like a dog
and you might even be right in the short term.
Who will care tomorrow
about CELEROn once the $600 frenzy is over because memory
are getting expensive again ? Who will care if MERCED is slow
at FRS. I believe there is no problem that is so intractable that
you can't cure it by throwing money at it. And Intel will.
