I think silver is used as a component of solder in the manufacture of PCBs - giving it the required strength to offset the formation of hairline cracks around the component leads going INTO the PCBs, causing it to fail electronically.

I did take a part old computer disc drive 30 years old that did
have thin conducting wires made of silver. Sill have them.
It is correct some old computer boards used silver coating and
could be recognised from black silver oxide. That staff is more
than 20 years old if any arround and mostly in land fills.
