I decided to flirt with financial disaster by shorting AOL at 68.

I do not think your move is a bad one. AOL is starting to feel its financial pinch. Read today's WSJ which has a negative tone on AOL. In choosing between AOL and YAHOO I pick latter. The reason: AOL is for baby boomers and grade school kids who just want to plug and play. YAHOO is trendy for the generation X. Now YAHOO (just yell YAHOOOOO) has all kinds of merchandising with its name. Which T-shirt would generation X, the one with YAHOO or the one with AOL logo. By teaming up with MCI, customer base of AOL will be eroded. So hang in there.

You have some profit on your recent trade on YAHOO. Can't beat that. That was a gusty move. Of course 20/20 could've should've would've etc. But profit is profit.
