Isonics Corporation Awarded Depleted Zinc Oxide Supply Contract By Detroit Edison
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Isonics Corporation (OTC: ISON - news) announced today the award of a multi-year supply agreement with Detroit Edison Company [NYSE:DTA - news] for depleted zinc oxide (DZ). DZ is used as an additive in nuclear power plants to reduce corrosion and cracking of key components and to reduce radiation exposure to plant workers. Isonics is the world's leading supplier of this product.

Isonics will supply Detroit Edison's DZ requirements for the Fermi 2 nuclear power station for 3 operating cycles. Under the agreement, Isonics is scheduled to deliver an initial quantity of DZ for the first operating cycle in June of this year. Fermi 2 is a boiling water type reactor. Reactors of this type and size generally require approximately $350,000 to $600,000 worth of DZ per operating cycle.

Isonics President and CEO James E. Alexander commented, ''Isonics is pleased to add Detroit Edison to our list of DZ customers and is particularly pleased that Detroit Edison opted for a multi-cycle supply. This order marks Isonics continued success in securing supply agreements with the world's leading power generators, and is the second multi-year agreement concluded in the past 6 months. The increasing volume of such agreements allows for more effective production planning, assuring our customers the availability of DZ at predictable costs. As a company, Isonics is pleased that these outstanding utilities continue to recognize the value of this important health, environmental, and safety product and have selected Isonics as their preferred supplier.''

I am new to SI and to this thread. I recently joined SI after floating around as a non member for several weeks and reading entries on this and several other threads. This thread was by far the most interesting. I took your advice and I bought RNTK for myself and I bought a couple of thousand shares for for my children. Got in initially for under $2, and I bought some more today. All I can say is thanks!!
