I don't think anyone has addressed Patrick's very valid question. This is just from memory, I don't have time right now but the accurate details are in the Research thread.

The first versions of the CD-ROM were pre-released to the TAVA client base in mid-October on a 90 day free trial basis. This was so companies could start to inventory and assess their Y2K needs while developing 1998 budgets for Y2K remediation. The bulk of the first press of the CD-ROM was given to Wonderware about 11/20/97 to distribute to it's client base, mostly on that same try-then-buy basis.

Wonderware held off on that distribution until it completed testing on it's FactorySuite 2000 product, so that it could do a simultaneous promotion to it's client base. The main WNDR distribution occurred in January 1998. At that time TAVA announced a second printing of the CD was in the works of about 10,000 units. I think the first printing was about 20,000 units.

Again this is just off the cuff, anyone may feel free to correct me, I just think Patrick has a valid point and the discussion of these points, (though old news to some of us) should be continued. The appearance of shorts on any board is very helpful in stimulating the positive and negative points of any stock, so long as people don't take the lazy way out and resort to personal attacks.

So far this board has been doing well, it helps when people with opposite positions treat each other with respect and address the issues. Good work.
