If anyone had trouble getting to Maspeth I went to their only branch on long island in new hyde park on jericho tpke and it was in and out rather quickly. Here is an Independence question, with 3/31 approaching do you think they will pay a dividend and is everyone going to hang out the 18 months for the lower tax rate. Also while I was at the bank I was talking to a oldtimer who has been in this game since the begining and he mentioned Roosevelt Savings as a another candidate, did anyone here that scoop. Also Apple Savings I noticed is in all the right neighborhoods but I never heard any rumours, have you heard any? Finally in that legendary Peter Lynch article about thrift conversions, he was able to get financials to base his assumptions on what thrifts might convert. The last two NY thrifts remaining from his list, Maspeth and Ridgewood, we all seem to have accounts there and fingers crossed. Therefore going forward are we to open accounts at random in the remaining thrifts based on rumour or is their a easy way for us to get numbers to crunch to turn the odds in our favor. Sorry guys but since it is quarters end and a lot is going to happen this week I figured we might as well get the questions flowing first thing.
