Stockman:

<<AMD is going bankrupt Buckwheat. There is no other way out. The resignation of the CFO shows that this is well on the way to becoming true.>>

With the way AMD stock going, you will be broke with your AMD shorts before AMD goes bankrupt. Even if AMD is going bankrupt someone will buy them out. For you, no one will buy you out. You will file for Chapter 11 or fled the country.

re: economies of scale

I love when intelopers are saying that. They (you included) have no idea what it means so it sounds like:
well, even if intel would loose money on each chip it [intel] would make it up in volume

ouch, your short amd position must hurt :-))

And I do feel your pain he-he-he-he

StockMan, Re: "The board with AMD K6-266 sells for $409 at TC Computers."

The motherboard comes WITH the K6.

A brief math lesson:

Motherboard/chip package ($409) minus K6-266 ($335 at thechipmerchant.com) equals $74 for the motherboard. Not bad!

A typical Pentium II board sells for more than double that, ($170+ isn't uncommon).

Stockman, I don't normally give up on people so easily, but you appear to be hopeless. Good Luck.

Stockie, Stockmelt, etc.

You want data? Go to www.grumpmicro.com and you will see just how the K6 works with many, many motherboards, and the data not only looks great but in reality these chips work superbly. I have the MTech M/B and a K6-266 and love it.
