I don't see how falling memory and drive prices adversely affected Intel's CPU business. I would think that it would in fact have the opposite effect.

It was Cyrix/AMD/CPQ's willingness to incur losses which drove the sub $1000 market.

It is to Intel and Dell's credit that they didn't join the insanity.

However when sub $1000 PCs can be sold at a good profit Intel we be there. Their patience will be rewarded.
