I don't doubt that the PCS service providers will subsidize the new phones, but I doubt if they'll give 'em away. These phones will not be cheap (from the manufacturers), especially at the outset. IMO the expected revenue increase the service providers will capture from getting dual mode phones in their subscribers hands is not large enough to justify a major subsidy. However, I've been wrong before.
