<<3Com for me is a waiting game. But who wants to wait for another year having watched the stock price declining for various quarters in a row already. People they almost lost money in the last quarter ! I have the impression that everybody here wants to ignore this fact !>>

Michael: Not I. I held coms for over a year and sold it last week for 36 1/8, almost an exact wash from my purchase price. While I still believe in the long term story of the company, I am concerned, like you, that a market tank would give coms a hyper-accelerated ride down the chute for who knows how long. 3com should do very well over the five year term but I'm pruning a few of my weaker holdings to make sure I've got enough dry powder. Coms certainly could take off and leave me behind but so be it; the risk appears to be significantly more to the downside at this point. I'll be back if I see the mid-20's or a strong upside breakout. Languishing while everyone tries to sort out what it all means in a hyper market isn't my style. Give me a stock making new 52 weeks highs any day! Maybe I'll pick up some more Lu after the split on 4/1. ..Tim

I wish I took a hint and ran for the exit a few months ago. While hoping for a recovery, I am afraid of even bigger losses. Could someone tip me what to do with my 600 shares?

It looks like 3Com will have about 100% earnings growth if you compare the 1999 numbers with 1998. In the good old days of 1996 such earnings growth was good for triple digit P/E in companies like Ascend and Cascade. :-)

I definitely don't know what to do with my former US Robotics shares. I should have sold them when they reached my original sell target of $60.

>>Any fair valuation for the stock would be below 30 !

A "fair" value is the price that a willing buyer and willing seller, neither under duress or compulsion to act, are willing to trade the stock for. No more, no less.
