From KRT Website:

In 1997, Kensington announced the results of a statistical study
and independent diamond valuation completed by world
renowned diamond geologist, Dr. Luc Rombouts of Antwerp,
Belgium. Kimberlite 150 as a whole was reported as having the
highest macrodiamond valuation at US $110/carat based on 33
stones. The statistical study also revealed Kimberlite bodies
145, 150, 174, 176, and 200 as having the best estimated grades,
ranging from 15.64 to 34.32 carats per hundred tonnes.
Kensington was extremely encouraged by Dr. Rombouts' reports,
and in further reviewing the drilling results to date, the company was able to conclude
that several kimberlite bodies were clearly stratified, and certain zones may contain
potentially economic diamond concentrations. The large size of several kimberlite bodies
would also significantly increase the potential for any higher grade zones to be mined
economically. Diamond values were also significantly higher than previously thought, and
the potential of larger and better quality stones than those recovered to date could be
significantly increased by utilizing selective mining techniques.

From October 14 News Release:

Kimberlite bodies 150 and 176 are clearly stratified with
respect to both the lithology and distribution of the estimated
macrodiamond grades. The average macrodiamond content of
the higher grade zones is about 40% greater than the content
estimated for the total mass of these bodies. The economic
significance of the macrodiamond grade zonation will be
evaluated during continuing exploration programs.

Best of Luck,

Ross

I know nothing of WHY Cameco is out ( or reported to be out ) but keep in mind that their Financial Statements are biased towards their own shareholders...do not expect them to say " we believe this property may have zonal variances that are economic and worth billions of dollars. Regardless, we have chosen not to participate in the 1998 drill program."
