Furthermore Intel failed to learn from others mistakes.

The pattern, within the PC industry, has been overproduction -> price wars -> downfall of sector.

Intel is falling right in line. At this time, in the PC sector, everybody loses in a price war.

Are you saying then that AMD/CYRIX/CPQ are selling these sub $1000 PCs at a profit? If so what are their margins? It's my understanding they are incurring substantial losses. Am I wrong?
