Hello Vaughn:

Thank goodness I am not alone -- my mind plays tricks as well...Vaughn, welcome to the "silverthread" club...

BTW -- thanks for the info on Angola and Black Lake/Munny L ... I feel things are a-sizzling... like the temp in T.O.! What an end to the month of March! Nothing personal, Vaughn, but hope it stays freezing in the North!
Regards. Goalie.

Hello Vaughn and all - OFF TOPIC - I have lurked on this thread and learned from Vaughn's comments and analysis of diamond stocks. I was wondering if someone could offer comments and/or comparative examples at previous stages of diamond plays to the following (any and all comments appreciated). I apologize in advance for intruding on this thread. I just thought this was the best place to come to broaden my diamond knowledge. If anyone objects then please send me a private message.

Here's some rough facts:

* Located in Canada;
* Roads and other infrastructure in place to minimize costs of development;

* the 3 largest and most successful kimberlite pipes have estimated mass of 336, 87 and 45 million tonnes each (they have many others which have been tested to various degrees);

* 1997 drilling of 130 tonnes resulted in 31 macros (>1mm) in these 3 pipes;

* Grades for these 3 pipes ranged from 0.03 to 0.07 cpt in '97 samples

* Est. average carat price of macros in the $80 - $100 USD/ct range;

* 720 macros (>1mm) have been recovered to date;

* 69% of macro diamonds recovered to date are of gem quality, with another 20% "near gem" quality and 11% industrial grade stones.

I am particularly interested if the 69% ratio gem quality is encouraging or meaningful.

I need help sorting through the hot air and facts. Bottom line I see is that until grades are higher on larger samples I really don't know anything.

Here is the complete NR and company:
