Layoffs account for the vast majority of the productivity improvements seen in our economy, improvements which are in turn driving record levels of return on shareholder equity. You can't have one without the other. Creative destruction.

Well, I didn't want to put it that way...but yes, you are right. That's the reason why I felt my friend was better off in the end to get laid off this company. She probably has a new job now for all I know.
