>>AOL is not an Internet stock

Right. AOL is a media company. Very fast forward. Close down
AOL Studios (for which analysts projected $100 revenue in FY98),
slash original content, and then announce a remote access IP service for big business and presto, AOL is a big business ISP.

AOL is whatever it says it is today. And no matter what it says
or tries is great and bound for success. Failure? What's that?

September, 1997. AOL sells ANS and gets out of the network business.
"GREAT move" ga ga the analysts. March, 1998. AOL announces it's
going after the business networking market (without ANS, which was
main source of that expertise). "GREAT move!". "They could hit a
home run with this" -- Henry "strong buy" Blodgett, Oppenhiemer.
