Jim P., I see why you think these things, but I think that they are merely potential pitfalls, and not a realistic probabilities at this point. I'll let you know if I change my mind.

On cash flow, DELL has the least to worry about right now.

I was refering to the Stock market.
After reading the HRB, I think there are some truths about DELL that shareholders are not as awear of as perhaps they should be.

I see a few Potential problems long term for DELL.

1) Complete and total dependency on WinTel. Not that this is going anywhere soon, but A blunder by either could impact DELL dramaticaly.
2) Merced and a Non NT platform. Does DELL have a lot of experience with UNIX ? What flavor. I think INTC is hoping to put Merced in 8 processor Unix boxes for bigtime servers. Yes Unix and NT compete.
3) Processor price colapse. With AMD yield increasing to the 80% area and 300 Mhz parts comming off the line, this could put further preasure on CPU asp's, and we know how that can impact total machine purchace price. Really part on One.
4) If PC demand were to slow overall, (I know this will never happen to dell as they are the almighty share gainer) The company could find themselves in a cash crunch very quickly. Stated Cash is really a lot lower than the Balance sheet says with their -5 day cash conversion. (I may regret this one.)<<
