This article sure sums it up for Sun.

STREET SAYS SUN STILL SHINES
redherring.com
Sun's stock, which many analysts have regarded as among the most reasonably valued of all the technology stocks, started to feel the heat. Despite a strong run from 33 to 50 between December and February, shares of Sun have struggled over the past month, dipping back towards 40 as investors remain divided on Sun's earnings potential for the third and fourth quarters of 1998.

It bears repeating that Sun's software revenues are fairly minor compared to its server business. In fact, according to John Jones, managing director at Salomon Smith Barney, Java revenues are estimated at only 1 percent of total revenues for fiscal 1998 or $130 million, while the estimate for the total Java market is $1 billion for the year.

"HP still has to furnish proof on execution," says Mr. Kunstler. "The notion that HP could just whistle and make it happen is silly, and they are really not trying to do that.
