For those who think the recent announcements on the price of the service is a bit too high, keep in mind that the MBA types who analyze the corporate justification for a service such as Iridium are less focused on the explicit costs of the service, but more focused on the opportunity costs of NOT HAVING THE SERVICE. Think of the demand within the maritime industry alone! Is there not a navigation or communication aid available that is not pretty much installed on all ocean going vessels of any commercial significance?? Iridium should have this market segment sewed up!
