Have you looked at Lernout en Hauspie (LHSPF)? It's a Belgium company. It's had a very good run and may be getting pricey, but interesting products all bent around speech and language. They have a very well thought of speech recognition engine, but also interesting is language conversion.

Ever noticed a web site that said, "French Version or German Version?

This is a computerized process to convert text from language to language. Say you want to sell music. Think about the advantage of a multi lingual website selling to buyers the world over and you don't ever have to worry about translations as it's just taken care of automatically. Microsoft has used it to do the grunt work on Encarta. It's still not perfect, so they still have to proof it.

LHSPF just bought a company that will add Chinese, Korean and Arabic. Just added sales of Spice Girls CD's to Iraq alone will pay for the software. Wait, are Spice Girls restricted trade?

Regards,

Mark
