Dan, if you were in Alan G's shoes, would you want to tighten now and go down in history as the man who caused the "'98 Panic"? (Hey, maybe we can call it the "Mouse Click Crash" since online brokers make panicky impulses so quick and easy to act upon.) Unfortunately for Big Al, he'll probably get blamed no matter what he does. Personally, I think he only makes the situation worse by sitting on his hands because the bigger the bubble gets and the more people that get sucked into the mania, the worse the effect on the economy when the bubble bursts.
